'Mandinka' is the name for one of the ethnic peoples in West Africa covering Guinee, Mali, Cote d'Ivoir, Gambia, Burkina Faso and Senegal.
By the 13th century, they had formed a huge nation called 'Mandinka', which later got divided into six countries through years of historical changes.
People there have also been separated by the borders, but still keep the same traditional 'Mandinka' culture.
